Join us and benefit from our many loans and services available only to our valued members.

Members can take out a loan after joining and repay with tailor-made schedules to suit their needs. All our loans are fully insured (for free) on death*.

Payments to accounts can be by electronic transfer or standing order from your bank to your Credit Union account. We will send you a statement showing all transactions.

Take advantage of a host of additional member services available. We have arranged special house and motor insurance discounts for our members.

Your savings are safe with the credit union and are also covered under our Free Life Savings Insurance Scheme.

There are currently no pay transaction fees for saving or borrowing from Ballyfermot Inchicore Credit Union.

Joining is Easy! If you live, work or study within the common bond areas of Ballyfermot Credit Union, you are eligible to join.

What is the common bond?

One of the requirements of a credit union is that members have something in common with one another, this is known as a ‘common bond’. Ballyfermot Inchicore Credit Union operates on a community common bond basis, i.e. those living or working in the same areas may join. The common bond ensures that the savings of members of the community are available to fellow members as loans. The common bond defines the area in which a credit union can operate. How can I join?

In order to become a member of Ballyfermot Inchicore Credit Union you will need to fill in Membership Application Form, which you can download here and bring it with you to one of our offices along with the following documents:

  • Photo ID - Passport or Drivers Licence
  • Proof of Address - Utility Bill or Bank Statement
  • PPS Number - P60, Wage Slip, Tax Form, Medical Card

Can I apply for a loan immediately after joining?

Yes. Once your membership is activated, you can apply for a loan.
